About Jackie Burns
Jackie Burns is a Fellow of the International Association for Astronomical Artists (www.iaaa.org), a science communicator, and a multi-disciplined artist. Her media includes, but is not exclusive to, acrylic on canvas, drawing, digital, fibre, glass, metal, and jewellery. She lives and works as a professional artist in Essex, UK. Her recent exhibitions include NASA 60th Anniversary Art Exhibition at Houston, Texas (2018); ConFusion, Virtual Art Show (2021), and Well House Gallery, Essex, one woman aerospace and astronomy art exhibition (Sep/Oct. 2021). Jackie also ran an official event for World Space Week UK, where she painted live at the Well House Gallery for five consecutive days during her two month art exhibition. She was interviewed by the BBC Arts Correspondent, David Sillito, in 2019 as part of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing. The interview was broadcast during all the major BBC news bulletins, and broadcast on all of the BBC international news outlets.
